Friend Mike Steward works at Rex Bionics, a pioneering company in New Zealand that has designed the world’s first robotic exoskeleton legs to aid walking for people with paralysed legs. Rex Bionics has recently been receiving major global news coverage (BBC, Sydney Morning Herald, Russia Today, Fox News, Montel Williams, etc) and viral social media exposure via Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and the blogosphere (Engadget, Gizmodo to name a few). The Huffington Post named the Rex Bionics robotic legs as one of the “Best Tech Of The Decade”.
This article by the NZ Herald tells the Rex Bionics story way better than I could.
A recent TV news feature showed Kiwi paralympian Dave MacCalman with his new pair of Rex Bionics robotic legs – and the look on Dave’s face was one I’ll always remember.
Well done to Mike and his colleagues at Rex Bionics!
