We went to the Left Bank Art Gallery in Greymouth yesterday and they were selling some lovely notebooks which had been covered in patchwork, craft papers and beading. I thought I would give it a go myself as they were charging $35 each. I made a couple, one for myself and one to cover Eloise’s diary.
I think they look really pretty and make a lovely keepsake. It’s quite a creative process so I’ve really enjoyed putting these together with bits of fabric, printed card, watercolour pictures and beads.
The best thing is that they can be customised to suit the person. Here are a few close up photos of Eloise’s diary, I’ve tried to put lots of nice inspirational things on her cover.
And below are a few close up photos of my notebook cover!
All though they are very time consuming to make, the good thing about them is that you can remove them when the notebook is full and use it again on a new book.
I’m just in the process of starting another one for a birthday present, if I don’t go blind in the process!!
Below is a little card that I’ve made using beads and watercolour painting.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed looking at some of my creative work!
Happy Easter everyone. xx
