Jade on Paroa Beach

I went for a walk on the beach with Eloise on Sunday afternoon to look for some little white quartz stones for Greg’s mom to use as baking beans for her pastry.

We were so busy looking for stones I think we walked quite a way down the beach without realising.

I was just about to shout Eloise when something caught my eye in the sand.  The sun was reflecting off something which looked like a glass bottle and when I got closer I realised that it was a buried piece of Jade.

We have been looking for Jade ever since we arrived on the West Coast and have only found small pieces the size of a thumbnail.

Well guys, check this baby out!  Our biggest find yet!

I think I scared Eloise because I was screaming like a wild woman, I couldn’t believe that we had found a decent piece of Jade!  Yey…

Needless to say, we went back to the beach yesterday to try and find some more!P3200327 (Small)

Here is Eloise showing off our beautiful piece of Jade.

I gave the piece of Jade to Eloise as you are supposed to give away the first piece you find.  At least we are keeping it in the family!!

lovely to see you so happy. The flowers look great and the colours are so bright… did see about 6 varities that i knew and have grown myself. The weather looks good, we have been lucky this week: 18 degrees, short sleeves and shorts in the garden – well me that is. Been busy painting pots and got greenhouse planted up with veg also bedding plants. Did your hair turn out ok? Remember when your friend’s mom did it and you put a crash helmet on to go and get a rinse to tone it down. Anyway take care, love to all, waiting for next lot of photos. Love and miss you all Mom XXXXXXXXXXXX
