Queenstown

By the time we left Dunedin it was around 3pm and it took us around 3.5 hours to drive over to Queenstown.  Luckily Eloise slept most of the way.  She’s been a really good egg as we’ve been doing such long stints in the car and she hasn’t complained once.

Queenstown looked really stunning on our approach over the mountains.  Unfortunately we didn’t take many photos as we arrived and only a few photos when we were walking around later oP2150367 (Small)n.

We checked in to the motel and then headed down to the waterfront.  It’s a very vibrant place, lots of tourists around, bars and cafes and people sitting on the beach.  Oh and plenty of clothes shops!!!!

The landscape is a lot different to the West Coast.  In fact I’m missing the lushness of the green forests and mountainsides of the West Coast already.

However, It was good to get an idea of  the size of the city and what sort of businesses you could find there.

I think it would be a bit too remote for us as it’s a pretty long drive to get to anywhere else.  We can’t place too much judgement on any of the places we’ve seen so far as we’ve literally only spent half a day at each of them, so what I’m typing is just my initial impressions!
