Car workshop

Posted by on 11 February 2011

Left Greymouth this morning to visit Akaroa for the weekend. Got thwarted at an early stage as the Arthurs Pass turnoff at Kumara Junction was closed due to the start of the Coast2Coast race. About 800 competitors run, cycle and kayak from Serpentine Beach near Greymouth across to Christchurch. The 2-day race (for the slackers) started today and the 1-day “Longest Day” race takes place tomorrow.

After a long but scenic detour around Lake Brunner-Te Kinga-Jackson, we reconnected with the Arthurs Pass road, passing hundreds of super-fit cyclists and runners.

We’re currently sitting in a waiting room at a car workshop in Christchurch getting a new car stereo fitted before we continue onwards to Akaroa via the Little River Gallery. More blog news over the next day or 3…no rush!
